Rafale Deal: India To Finalize The Purchase of 36 Rafale Fighter Jets

Since last few years, India was negotiating with the France in concern to the Rafale fighter jet deal. But it seems that Indian government is on the verge of long-awaited deal with the France government. As per the reports, Indian government is all set to allot a green signal for purchasing 36 fighter jets.

Speaking on the deal, government stated "The contract and the inter-governmental agreement are now being fine-tuned. The deal is in the final stages now,". Speaking more on the deal between two developing countries, the countries have locked the deal for around 55,000 rupees. The cumulative cost includes fighter jets, their weapons, maintenance package, etc. Under this latest deal, France will start delivering 36 Rafale from 2019 starting.

Getting into its technicalities, the 18 MMRCA fighter jet will be delivered to India without any delay. Whereas the latter once will solely build in India.

MMRCA was finalised by the IAF after-field trials along with Eurofighter Typhoon, American F-16 and F/A-18, Swedish Gripen and Russian miG-35. In all, Rafale beat the others and was selected by the IAF for their fighters.
